The military has issued a declaration of Halilu Buzu as wanted for involvement in terrorist activities, illegal arms trafficking, unauthorized mining, and cattle rustling.

This announcement was made in Abuja during the bi-weekly media briefing of the Defence Media Operations by Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Operations. Buzu, a native of Niger, is known to reside in a forest in Zamfara State and frequently flees to the Niger Republic after carrying out operations in Nigeria.

Despite his elusive nature, General Buba assured that the military is collaborating with counterparts from Niger Republic to apprehend Buzu, who commands a significant number of operatives.

Additionally, General Buba reported that Nigerian Army troops successfully rescued 253 abducted individuals within the past two weeks. This achievement was attributed to the efforts of Operations Y-Watch, Nokia-Fighting Patrols, and Operations in Delta State.

Furthermore, General Buba disclosed that during operations, 227 insurgents were neutralized, 529 were arrested, and 11 individuals involved in oil theft were apprehended. He emphasized the importance of prevailing in the fight against terrorism.

“We relentlessly target these categories of terrorists such that we will be able to take them out, and take them off battle field as soon as possible.

“Soon, the fate of such terrorists will be decided. It will be violent and it will be short, and will stop at nothing to take them off the battle field,” he said.
