Popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo is dead.
A Nollywood source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed hat Alex Ekubo was rushed to the hospital on Monday.
The source disclosed that the actor had been battling cancer.
He reportedly passed away on Tuesday afternoon after spending several hours on life support.
Alex Ekubo was rumoured to be battling serious health challenges in May 2025 following his prolonged absence from social media.
His last social media post was made on December 30, 2024.
Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe further confirmed the news in an emotional tribute shared on Instagram,
Nnadiekwe wrote, “I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m lost for words because this wasn’t the plan, Alex Ekubo.”
He added, “To think you already prepared your will — it’s a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend.”
Ekubo reportedly died at the age of 40.
