The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declined to sign the peace accord for the Edo State Governorship election scheduled for September 21.
Former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar announced this on Thursday at the peace accord signing event in Benin.
He stated that the PDP has indicated it will only sign the accord if certain conditions are met.

The PDP chairman in the state was not present to provide details on the party’s decision.
However, Governor Godwin Obaseki had suggested on Wednesday that the PDP might not sign the accord during a meeting with members of the National Peace Committee.
