The Rivers State Police Command has unearthed the remains of the infamous cultist Gift Okpara, also known as 2 Baba, who was the main suspect in the killing of former Divisional Police Officer Bako Angbashim in Odiemudie community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state in September last year.
This occurred just a week after the police announced the death of the feared leader of the Iceland cult during a collaborative security operation in Idu-Ekpeye community in Ahoada East. However, some of his followers managed to seize his body and flee with it.
According to an anonymous police source on Thursday who spoke to PUNCH, operatives apprehended several loyalists of the deceased cult leader, who then guided them to a remote forest where his body had been buried.
A trending video, observed by PUNCH, depicted operatives using torchlights as they excavated the ground in an attempt to recover the decomposing corpse.
According to reports the state police command has arranged a media briefing scheduled for 11 am today, during which the specifics of the late 2 Baba’s body recovery are expected to be disclosed to journalists.\
