The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that a mobile phone stolen from a member of his team during Friday’s attack in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has been traced to the Ekiti State Governor’s Lodge.

Sowore made the allegation following the reported attack on members of his team at Tawakalitu Restaurant in Ado-Ekiti.

The activist called on the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately make available CCTV footage from the restaurant, insisting that the recordings should be released to the public.

He maintained that the footage could provide important evidence about the incident and help establish what transpired during the attack.

Sowore also expressed concern over the alleged whereabouts of the stolen phone, demanding transparency from security agencies and urging them not to conceal any evidence relating to the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no independent confirmation that the stolen phone had been traced to the Governor’s Lodge.
