The Supreme Court has rejected Emeka Ihedioha’s application, filed under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, seeking the issuance of a certificate of return as the legitimate Governor of Imo State. The court maintained that Governor Hope Uzodinma was ineligible to contest in the first instance.
In a decision delivered by Justice Tijjani Abubakar on Tuesday, the highest court dismissed the application for lacking merit, deeming it unnecessary and vexatious. Consequently, the court imposed a cost of N40 million against Mike Ozekhome for initiating the matter before the court.
