JUST IN: Tinubu in closed-door meeting with govs

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with governors from the 36 states of the federation in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF.

The meeting, which is his first with the governors since taking office on May 29, began about 12:36pm.

Governors from Zamfara, Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Ogun, Nasarawa, Bayelsa, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Lagos, Rivers, Osun, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Oyo, Plateau, Kebbi, Abia, Imo, and Bauchi were among those present at the meeting.

The deputy governors of Edo and Niger are representing their states.

Those not sighted before the commencement meeting are governors of Katsina, Kaduna, Gombe, Borno, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Ekiti and Sokoto.

Also attending the meeting are Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume.

It will be recalled that President Tinubu had last week Friday, met with the Progressive Governors Forum, which is a forum for governors elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC.
