President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a meeting with governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), known collectively as the Progressives Governors Forum, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting commenced shortly before 4:00pm on Thursday, following a separate session of the National Economic Council presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
As of the time of filing this report, the meeting was still in progress, while details of the agenda had yet to be made public.
The engagement comes eight days after the official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 general elections, according to the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It also comes five days after the APC unveiled the membership of its Presidential Campaign Council, which will be headed by former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General.
The outcome and details of Tinubu’s meeting with the APC governors are expected to emerge after the discussions.
