Kaduna train attack victim wins Reps seat

Sadiq Ango-Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one of the freed hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack, has been declared the winner of Kaduna state’s Sabon Gari Federal Constituency with 33,616 votes.

The result was announced in Zaria by the Returning Officer, Dr Hashim Suleiman of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU).

He declared Ango-Abdullahi the winner of the election, defeating a four-term member of the area’s All Progressive Congress, Malam Garba-Datti Mohammed, who received 31,737 votes.

Sources said Sadiq, the former train hostage, was a son to Professor Ango Abdullahi and late Hajiya Aisha, a one time minister of women affairs, who was fondly called “Mama Taraba”.
