The Kano State Government on Sunday donated N100 million to assist victims of the recent flood disaster that devastated Borno State.
The cheque was presented to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, by representatives of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, including the State Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication, Amina Sani.
This was revealed in a press statement issued by Sani Yola, Director of Special Duties at the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the strong, longstanding bond between Kano and Borno States, noting their brotherly and cordial relationship.
“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the victims, describing the disaster as a tragic humanitarian crisis and calling for widespread support for those affected,” the statement read.
The governor underscored the importance of collective action in responding to such disasters, reaffirming Kano State’s solidarity with Borno. He also prayed for the repose of those who lost their lives and wished the injured a swift recovery.
