Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf will on Monday, September 8, 2025, inaugurate the newly reconstituted Shuurah Council at Government House, Kano.
Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, said the council would strengthen participatory governance, inclusiveness, and transparency in decision-making.
He described the initiative as a key step towards advancing the governor’s transformation agenda and promoting sustainable development.
The Shuurah Council, serving as an advisory body, comprises respected figures from diverse stakeholder groups to ensure balanced representation across Kano’s social spectrum.
Governor Yusuf, noted for prioritising people-centred governance, is expected to use the event to outline the council’s mandate and reaffirm his administration’s commitment to accountability, equity, and citizen participation.
Waiya urged members and invited guests to attend, stressing that the development marked another stride in consolidating democratic ideals and strengthening institutions for effective service delivery.
