Learned Silk and distinguished son of Òṣogbo, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN (KRAD), has expressed profound grief over the passing of revered community elder and royal figure, Prince Adélékè Òdùọlá, who transitioned to eternal glory at the age of 93 yesterday evening.

In a condolence message personally signed and released through his media office, Adegoke described the late Prince Òdùọlá as an exceptional elder statesman, a pride of the Lájọmọ Royal Family, and a towering personality whose life embodied resilience, integrity, discipline and unwavering commitment to community advancement.

According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the late nonagenarian represented a generation of principled leaders whose wisdom, moral uprightness and entrepreneurial acumen helped shape the social and cultural identity of Òṣogbo.

“Baba Prince Adélékè Òdùọlá was not merely a royal prince or community leader; he was an institution of wisdom, discipline and uncommon grace. His life reflected the dignity of hard work, perseverance and honour. He remained a shining example of how determination and strong values can transform adversity into opportunity,” Adegoke stated.

KRAD further noted that the deceased distinguished himself as a successful trader, respected elder and custodian of enduring values, adding that his remarkable commitment to family, education, moral upbringing and communal progress ensured that his legacy would continue to resonate across generations.

He remarked that Prince Òdùọlá’s life exemplified the finest virtues of Ìwà Pẹ̀lẹ́ (gentle character), humility, courage and selfless service, qualities that earned him admiration within the royal family, the traditional institution and the wider Òṣogbo community.

Reflecting on the Islamic faith of the deceased, Adegoke prayed for Allah’s mercy upon his soul and divine comfort for all those affected by the painful loss.

“As Muslims believe, every soul shall taste death, and Baba Prince Adélékè Òdùọlá has returned to his Creator after a fulfilled and impactful earthly journey. We pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives his shortcomings, grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and makes his grave a place of peace and light,” he said.

He also prayed that Almighty Allah preserves the enduring legacies left behind by the departed elder and grants his family, loved ones and the entire Òṣogbo community the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.

Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Lájọmọ Royal Family, the palace of the Ataoja of Òṣogbo, friends, associates and all indigenes of Òṣogbo over the transition of what he described as “a rare gem, a repository of history and a bridge between generations.”

“Though Baba’s physical presence will be greatly missed, his virtues, wise counsel, service to humanity and remarkable footprints shall remain evergreen. May Allah preserve the noble values he stood for and continue to sustain the positive legacies he left behind,” Adegoke concluded.
