A viral video of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly called KWAM 1, introducing his daughter to Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has sparked reactions online amid her plans to enter the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The footage showed the veteran singer calling his daughter, Damilola Ayinde Marshal, forward at an event before turning to Hamzat and saying, “I hand her over to you.”
The deputy governor received the gesture with laughter and directed Damilola towards her seat, while she appeared entertained by her father’s move.
The video surfaced on social media on Sunday, with KWAM 1 singing in Yoruba as he made the introduction. His action appeared to be a playful show of support for his daughter’s political aspiration.
Damilola hopes to win a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, where she intends to represent Surulere Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.
She made her ambition public on March 17, 2026, through a post on Instagram, announcing her decision to contest for the position.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.
Damilola said her 12 years in legal practice had equipped her with knowledge of governance, justice and the concerns of people in her community.
She also expressed her commitment to giving young people a voice and serving the constituency if elected.
Beyond her legal career, she currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
