Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, Chief of Staff to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, passed away early Saturday, according to a statement from the Kwara State Government.
Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye announced the governor’s deep mourning over Mahe’s demise, describing him as “a perfect gentleman, community leader, urbane public servant, and statesman.”
The statement read, “In total submission to the will of Allah, we regret to announce the passing of the Chief of Staff to His Excellency, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe. He died this morning, December 28, 2024, as destined by Allah.”
Mahe was buried on Saturday at his residence on Moro Street, Adewole Estate, Ilorin, after the Asr prayer.
Governor AbdulRazaq extended his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Mahe’s family, government officials, and cabinet members, urging understanding during this period of mourning.
“We pray that Allah accepts his return, eases his account, admits him to al-Jannah Firdaus, and upholds his family upon goodness,” the statement added.
Prince Mahe, the eldest son of the 10th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir, was appointed Chief of Staff 17 months ago, succeeding Alhaji Adisa Logun, who passed away three years ago during the governor’s first term.
