The Labour Party’s statutory National Executive Committee (NEC) has elected Senator Usman Nenadi as the Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as the Interim National Secretary. They, along with others, will serve as members of the party’s interim working committee.
The NEC elected Nenadi on Friday during its meeting in Abuja.
This interim committee is tasked with overseeing all party affairs until the national convention, where a new NEC will be formally elected.
At the meeting, the NEC also approved a schedule for the conduct of ward, local government area, state, zonal congresses, and the party’s National Convention.
The party’s National Secretariat has been directed to publish the guidelines and timelines for these events to ensure transparent and democratic elections at every level.
