The Lagos State House of Assembly has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Samuel Aina, a prominent political leader from Oshodi/Isolo.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, Stephen Ogundipe, announced the news during Tuesday’s plenary session.
Ogundipe outlined Aina’s major achievements, noting that he served as chairman of the Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Council from 1999 to 2003. Among his contributions was the construction of the current building housing the council secretariat.
Ajomale Oladipo, who represents Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, described Aina as a leader worthy of emulation and a man of impeccable character.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa praised the late politician as a father figure whose legacy remains unmatched. He directed the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, to send a letter of condolence to Aina’s family.
In a related development, Obasa urged political party members to prioritise their health over political ambitions following the recent deaths of some newly elected councillors in the state.
