The Lagos State Government has demolished the car showroom of popular social media influencer and auto dealer, Waris Olayinka Akinwande, widely known as Ola of Lagos.

The showroom, identified as OOL Autos, was brought down on Saturday, October 11, 2025, according to several reports.

While the state government has not yet issued an official statement on the reason for the demolition, the move is believed to be linked to its ongoing crackdown on illegal and unsafe structures across Lagos.

Sources and online speculation suggest that the showroom was allegedly constructed beneath a high-tension power line, an area strictly prohibited for building due to safety and urban planning regulations.

The demolition aligns with the government’s continuous efforts to enforce physical planning laws, restore order, and enhance public safety. Similar exercises have recently been carried out in various parts of the state, including the Trade Fair Complex and sections of Lekki, where buildings without approvals or those obstructing drainages, road setbacks, and rights-of-way were removed.

The Lagos State Government has repeatedly emphasized that such actions are aimed at curbing flooding, protecting lives and property, and maintaining a safer and more sustainable urban environment.
