Lagos govt postpones Lekki-Epe e-call-up enforcement, cuts truck levy

The Lagos State Government has once again postponed the enforcement of the electronic call-up system for trucks operating along the Lekki-Epe corridor. Originally rescheduled from March to June 2025, implementation is now set to begin in August.

This latest delay comes in response to protests from truck operators regarding a N12,500 access levy per truck under the e-scheduling system.

In a statement issued Thursday by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, officials announced that the call-up fee has been reduced to N10,000 per truck, addressing concerns raised by stakeholders in the transport sector.

According to the statement, the decision emerged from a high-level stakeholders’ meeting convened by the state government and supported by Dangote Industries Limited.

Participants at the meeting included officials from the Ministry of Transportation, as well as representatives from key transport unions and associations, including the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, and the National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO.
