The Lagos state government has declared that the planned Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge repair project, which was originally supposed to start with a traffic diversion plan, has been postponed.

A new date for the start of the repairs will be announced in due time, according to a statement released on Friday by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation.

Although no explanation was provided for the postponing, the state government assured citizens and drivers that it remains committed to maintaining public safety and causing the least amount of disturbance possible during current and planned infrastructure improvements.

“We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation,” the statement read.

The repair works, when commenced, are expected to improve the structural integrity and traffic flow on the strategic link bridge which connects key areas in Lagos Mainland.
