The Lagos State Government has stated that its collaboration with Lagos Traffic Radio will aid in the implementation of the state’s plan to effectively manage traffic.
According to a statement on Monday, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, stated this during the 2022 retreat organised for the management of LTR themed, ‘LTR vision 2032 – A roadmap towards sustainable traffic reportage in Lagos.’
He said, “I want to urge the LTR not to relent in its efforts to collaborate with the state government in ensuring that the letter ‘T’ of the six pillar THEMES developmental agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, which stands for transportation and traffic management, is actualised.
“There is the need for the station to leverage technology for efficiency to continue to play a lead role in the industry because if we are improving in waterways and the rail is coming on, I think it is only fair that your organisation will also improve and set up its game so that the people will see that you are moving together with the state government.”
Similarly, the Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly’s Committee on Information, Setonji David, stressed the need for the organisation to train and re-train its staff members.
“In today’s world, staff organisational life in the workplace is becoming more unpredictable and this is majorly a result of both advancement in technology and the current model of doing business. Thus, to catch up with this trend, organisations are now under obligation to improve staff performance through training and re-training programmes,” he said.
