The Lagos State Taskforce conducted a concerted enforcement and cleanup effort in several places on Lagos Island early on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of 41 people.
According to a statement released by Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the Director of Public Affairs, the operation started at around 1:00 a.m. and targeted areas renowned for criminal activity, such as Obalende, Victoria Island, Falomo, Osborne Road, the Eko Hotel axis, Lekki Road, and Ikoyi.
The state government’s continuous clean-up enforcement effort, which included the raid, attempted to rid the city of miscreants, street urchins, hooligans, pickpockets, and other suspected criminals.
“During the raid exercise, a total number of 41 suspects were arrested and sanity was restored,” the statement said.
The suspects are expected to be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
