The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has introduced a Physical Complaint Centre at its Oshodi headquarters to give residents a dedicated location for reporting traffic-related issues, making enquiries and submitting complaints about the conduct of traffic officers.
The initiative, announced in a statement shared on the agency’s official X account on Thursday, is part of efforts to improve transparency, accountability and public engagement in its operations.
The new centre builds on the agency’s recently launched 3367 toll-free call service, which has handled thousands of interactions since it became operational on June 28.
According to LASTMA, the hotline recorded 2,843 engagements between June 28 and July 29, 2026. These included 1,047 enquiries, 709 commendations, 400 reports of road crashes and vehicle breakdowns, 163 formal complaints and 11 information requests. The agency said 468 of the reported cases had already been resolved, while 45 calls were unsuccessful because of network issues, abandoned calls and other technical challenges.
Speaking on the development, LASTMA General Manager, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said the new facility would serve residents who prefer to interact with the agency in person rather than through digital channels.
“The Physical Complaint Centre complements our 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre by providing members of the public who prefer face-to-face engagement with a convenient platform to report traffic-related concerns, seek clarifications and lodge complaints regarding the conduct of our officers,” he said.
Bakare-Oki assured Lagos residents that all complaints submitted through the centre would receive proper attention and would be investigated in line with established procedures and the principles of natural justice.
He also described the response to the toll-free service as an indication that more residents were beginning to trust the agency’s commitment to accountability and quality service.
“The overwhelming public response is a profound affirmation of the Agency’s unwavering pursuit of operational excellence, institutional integrity, administrative transparency and service delivery anchored on the highest standards of professionalism,” he said.
The LASTMA boss reiterated that the agency would not tolerate corruption, extortion, abuse of office or other forms of misconduct, adding that any officer found guilty after investigation would face disciplinary measures in line with the Public Service Rules and the agency’s internal regulations.
Bakare-Oki encouraged residents to make use of both the Physical Complaint Centre and the 3367 toll-free line to report traffic emergencies, submit complaints, make enquiries and provide feedback that could help improve traffic management across Lagos.
