LASU’s best graduating student to get N500,000

The Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, on Wednesday, during the convocation press conference, revealed its plan to award a sum of N500,000.00 to Imoitesemeh Yusuf, the best-graduating student from the Department of Law.

Yusuf achieved a remarkable CGPA of 5.00, earning a First Class Honours degree.

Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, announced this decision. Additionally, she disclosed that the upcoming convocation ceremony would serve as a celebration of the institution’s 40th anniversary. LASU was established in 1983.

Olatunji-Bello added that the 2020/2021 academic session’s best graduating student was Divine Lopez of the department of Physiology, Lagos State University College of Medicine with a CGPA of 4.91(First Class Honours).

She revealed that the convocation lecture, titled, ‘The impact of digitisation on higher education in the digital age,’ would take place on June 20, 2023, and be delivered by the Executive Secretary, Trust Fund, Mr Sonny Echono.

She mentioned that eight eminent Nigerians would be awarded doctorate degrees.

They are former Governor Babatunde Fashola, Oba Alayeluwa Ademola Elegushi, Dr Daniel Olukoya, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, Oba Suleiman Ashade and Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
