LASUSTECH set to pay adjunct lecturers on Thursday

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu has said that the adjunct lecturers will be paid on Thursday (today).

In a letter dated March 1, 2023, the adjunct employees claimed to The PUNCH that the organization, which was formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic, owed them six months’ salary.

The letter read, “Adjunct staff of Lagos State University of Science and Technology formerly Lagos State Polytechnic are calling on Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to prevail on the management of the institution to pay up their outstanding six months claims for lecturing, invigilation, and marking.

“The aggrieved lecturers have met with the management several times without much progress.

“They are therefore demanding for justice from the State Government and urgently for that matter in view of the excruciating hardships prevailing in the land they, however, wish the governor a re-election as he faces the governorship elections.”

LASUSTECHCommunication Director, Lanre Kuye, while reacting to the letter titled, ‘Lagos Polytechnic Adjunct staff calls for justice on outstanding payments’, said, “We are paying them today, the money has been approved and they will get their money today, unfailingly.

Kuye stated that LASUSTECH has agreements with the adjunct staff and that they will be paid on Thursday, unfailingly.
