Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole as his new Chief of Staff.
The announcement came hours after Segun Ogunwuyi, who previously occupied the position, resigned from the state government.
Ogunwuyi, a native of Ogbomoso, reportedly announced his resignation in the early hours of Monday.

Makinde subsequently named Akinwole as his successor to fill the vacant position.
Akinwole is also a native of Ogbomoso.
The fresh appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musbau Babatunde.
The statement also announced that the governor has appointed Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Due Process Office.
The appointments take immediate effect.
