An Aderegun Community High School (JSS1) student in Ogijo, Sagamu, has reportedly been raped by a 24-year-old guy named Gadafi Bala, who was taken into custody by Ogun State command of the Nigeria Police.
This was revealed in a statement that the command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, provided to reporters in Abeokuta.
Odutola clarified that Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara Ogijo had reported to the command on Thursday that Bala had sexually assaulted the pupil.
She said that the victim was visited and an examination form was given out for evaluation as soon as the Division Police Officer, Ogijo Division, got the report.
She said that the evidence clearly showed that one Gadafi knew the victim in an illicit and sexual manner.
Anyone found guilty of such an act will face consequences because it is a grave breach of human rights.
“As soon as a physician from a hospital operated by the government verified the outcome, Gadafi was taken into custody.
“A preliminary investigation has been initiated into the matter, and the State Criminal Investigation Department will take over the case for a covert probe.
