Man burnt to death for allegedly stealing Okada in Delta

An unidentified middle-aged man has allegedly been burnt to death by angry mob who accused him of stealing a motorcycle popularly known as Okada.

The event occurred over the weekend in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Locals stated robberies had continued in the region despite frequent arrests of suspects.

Residents allegedly decided to take matters into their own hands by implementing jungle justice on the victim.

An indigene of the village posted a graphic photo of the lifeless man who had been burned beyond recognition on Facebook.

A source in the area described the capital punishment as sad, but quickly added that the measure was inevitable as residents were frequently be robbed of their valuables.

According to the source, the measure would serve as deterrent to others who refused to turn a new leaf.
