Marketers threaten to stop transporting fuel from North-West states over N40bn debt

The Gusau Depot of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has threatened to stop transporting petroleum products in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and parts of Katsina state.

The threat was issued in response to the Federal Government’s failure to settle its N40 billion outstanding payment to IPMAN members.

The payment is based on up to 11-month importation and transportation claims.

According to the marketers, the federal government violated the agreement reached with the association.

Yahya Kamba, Zonal Chairman of IPMAN, told reporters in Sokoto that the N40 billion is not a subsidy payment.
