Gabriel Martinelli has declared that his Arsenal teammates are fully capable of dealing with any challenge posed by his fellow Brazilian, Estevao, in Sunday’s London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian wonder kid Estevao has quickly made an impact following his summer arrival at Chelsea.

The young winger delivered a standout performance in midweek, scoring a brilliant solo goal during Chelsea’s Champions League rout of Barcelona.

However, the talented but still inexperienced 18-year-old has yet to face the intensity of one of the Premier League’s most eagerly awaited clashes.

Asked whether he plans to brief left-backs Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly ahead of the Stamford Bridge showdown, Martinelli (via football.london) responded: “Yeah, I mean, of course I’ll try to tell them some stuff but I also think we are good enough to handle him.”

Martinelli, who has been beaten only once in 10 appearances against Chelsea, also has two standout goals at Stamford Bridge to his name.

He added after scoring off the bench in Wednesday’s victory over Bayern Munich: “I always like to play the big ones against big teams.

“I feel comfortable in those matches because they tend to be more open.

“We understand how tough this league is, but we believe in ourselves.

“We need to do our job and keep pushing, so the aim is to go there on Sunday and win the game.”
