The Chairman of Emouha Local Council of Rivers State, Chidi Lloyd has honoured the Eko Hotel staff, Mary Kekwaru, that returned $70,000 to its owner by endorsing her as a brand ambassador of the council.
Lloyd also pledged to sponsor Kekwaru for her masters’ degree programme immediately after naming the council pavilion after her.
Recall that Kekwaru, an Eko Hotel employee in Lagos State, recently went viral over her act of honesty by returning $70,000, the equivalent of N50m to the authorities of the hotel, who had since returned the missing money to its rightful owner.
Lloyd, who is the chairman of the council where Kekwaru hails from, said the single act has helped to promote the council, which has always been in the news for wrong reasons.
The council boss spoke during the flagging-off of a one-kilometre Omkpoba-Mgbere Road in Emohua Local Council, which had in attendance, politicians, government officials, and other top dignitaries at the council.
Lloyd urged Kekwaru to continue to uphold her integrity as all eyes are now on her.
