The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has tragically lost his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima.
Details surrounding her death remain unclear at this time, but it was confirmed that she passed away on Friday.
Several dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Deputy Senate President, have expressed their condolences to the NNPCL chief. Vice President Shettima, through a statement issued by his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, prayed for the peaceful repose of Fatima’s soul and asked for divine strength for the Kyari family as they cope with this painful loss.
Shettima also led mourners during the funeral prayers held at the Annur Mosque in Abuja.
Similarly, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin extended his sympathies to Kyari. In a statement from his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Jibrin prayed for Fatima’s soul to rest in peace, asking Allah to grant her entry into Aljannatul Firdausi and to give the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
“My heartfelt condolences go to Malam Mele Kyari and his family during this difficult time. May Allah SWT grant them strength and comfort as they mourn their beloved Fatima,” Jibrin said.
