Military buries 3 Officers, 19 men killed in Niger, COAS, Badaru, Matawalle, families present

The rank and file of the Nigerian Armed Forces were joined by family members and friends at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja for the burial of 22 military personnel who perished in fighting in Niger State.

According to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), 36 officers were killed in battle on August 14, including one during an air mission.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba; Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa; and other service chiefs.

According to reports  some of the deceased officers had already been buried by their families.
