The body of a herder, whose identity has been withheld, was discovered on a farm in Riwaza, near the Fobgbe community in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT, after being reported missing on Sunday.
According to villagers, a farmer returning from his field around 6:22 p.m. on Monday made the discovery.
The herder had reportedly left his settlement in Riwaza with his cattle for grazing on Sunday morning and failed to return.
His absence raised concern among residents after the Fulani community leader in Fobgbe, Ardo Shehu Usman, announced that a herder had been missing.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, Ardo Usman said the matter was not immediately reported to security agencies because of the poor condition of the road linking the village to Kwali town.
We kept searching for him but It was not until Monday evening that a farmer saw the corpse and informed the community,” he explained.
The cause of death of the hearderis yet to be determined as at the time of filing this report.
