Former Senate Majority Leader Jonathan Zwingina has reportedly passed away.
Zwingina, who also served as the Director-General of the MKO Abiola campaign during the June 12, 1993 presidential election, was 70 years old.
While his family has not yet confirmed his death, Leadership newspaper reports that the Adamawa State-born politician died on Wednesday, October 2, in Abuja, following a prolonged illness.
Zwingina, a former senator representing Adamawa South, was initially a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before later joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
