Three people have lost their lives following a series of bomb explosions in the Bassa community, located in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Five others sustained injuries in the tragic incidents, which left behind a scene of devastation and despair.
The Chairman of Shiroro Local Government, Akilu Kuta, confirmed the incident.
According to Kuta, the first explosion occurred around 8:30 am, followed by a second blast minutes later, claiming two lives. The third explosion, which took place around 3:30 pm in the Tudun Baturia area of Bassa community, resulted in another fatality.
In response to the blasts, victims were initially taken to Kuta General Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the IBB Specialist Hospital for further care. One individual remains under medical attention at Kuta General Hospital.
The explosions have left residents of the community in a state of fear and uncertainty, as shockwaves from the incident ripple through the area.
Authorities have yet to release details regarding the cause of the blasts or identify those responsible.
