The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has honoured his wife, Foluke Adeboye, with a heartfelt tribute on the occasion of her 78th birthday, describing her as his closest companion and an unwavering partner in both life and ministry.
In a birthday message titled “To My Lover, Foluke,” posted on his X account, the 84-year-old cleric looked back on their 58 years of marriage, expressing appreciation for her constant support throughout their family life and ministerial journey.
He reflected on the remarkable path they have shared, writing, “Great has been the journey of walking side by side with you.”
Adeboye also described her birthday as a personal blessing, saying, “Today, on your 78th birthday, is a gift to me, to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing: celebrating you.
“With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Our two have agreed, and so our walking together has been of divine stride, a race continuously illuminated, step after step, decade after decade. My path shines brighter because I walk it with you.”
Although many members of the RCCG fondly refer to her as “Mummy G.O.,” Adeboye said he values the unique privilege of knowing her as his wife, trusted confidante and friend.
Commending her dedication, kindness and steadfast faith, he noted that her commitment has been a blessing not only to their children but also to the church and countless families.
Reaffirming her importance in his life, he added, “With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Many people know you as Mummy G.O; I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend.
“Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion.”
Looking back on nearly six decades together, the cleric expressed gratitude to God for her life and prayed for continued grace, strength and fruitfulness.
“Seventy-eight years of your life, fifty-eight years of them beside me, and still I find new reasons to thank God for you,” Adeboye said.
He continued, “You have been wife, counsel, and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold. As you celebrate today, my prayer is simple.
“May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength, and continue to satisfy you with His goodness.
“May the years ahead be even more fruitful than those behind, and may you continue to see the mighty hand of God at work in your life. Thank you for walking hand in hand with me. Happy 78th birthday, my love.”
Pastor Enoch and Foluke Adeboye were married in 1967 and are blessed with four children.
