The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced another successful operation by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), following precision air strikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, within the Gezuwa area of Borno State, on July 10, 2026.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was carried out after credible intelligence revealed renewed terrorist activities and the gathering of fighters in the area.
The statement noted that the Air Component conducted intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, which confirmed the presence of terrorist facilities and logistics centres before launching the attack.
“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists.
“The successful operation further underscores the growing pressure being mounted on terrorist elements, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup continue to be severely degraded by sustained air offensives.”
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and dedication, while reaffirming the NAF’s commitment to maintaining aggressive operations against threats to national security.
According to the CAS, “The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge.
“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”
He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on strengthening the progress already achieved in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
