The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized counterfeit wines worth ₦41.2 million in Nasarawa State.
According to the agency, the seizure followed a raid on several shops in different parts of the state.
NAFDAC carried out a major operation in wine shops located in Mararaba Market, as well as the New Nyanya and Masaka areas of Nasarawa State. The raid targeted counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits, leading to the seizure of products worth over ₦41.2 million, the agency confirmed in a statement on its X handle on Monday.
“NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement team is actively looking into the importers or manufacturers responsible for these counterfeit drinks. We urge consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious products to the nearest NAFDAC office for immediate action,” the agency said.
