The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has cautioned members of the public against fraudulent social media accounts impersonating the commission by using its name, logo and official identity to disseminate unauthorised information.

In a public notice signed by its Head of Information and Publications, Shafii Sani Mohammed, the commission clarified that it neither operates nor recognises any social media account outside its officially approved platforms.

It urged Nigerians to rely exclusively on information published through its official website and verified social media channels for accurate updates.

The recognised platforms include Facebook, X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, all operating under the handle @NigeriaHajjCom, alongside the commission’s official YouTube channel.

The Commission urged the public to disregard and report suspicious accounts and avoid sharing unverified information.

It added that it may take appropriate administrative and legal action against those misusing its identity.
