The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, is set to formally inaugurate Comrade Lucky Emonefe as its National President in Abuja.
The ceremony is slated for the International Conference Centre and has as theme “Students’ welfare and tertiary education: Education sector reform and student loan scheme; economic implications on Nigeria’s modern democracy”.
This is a follow up to the election of the new leadership of the association late last year during their convention in Abuja.
The Chairman of the occasion is Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRaham AbdulRasaq, while the Father of Day is the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.
The Royal Fathers of the Day are the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Ogiame Atuwaste 111, the Olu of Warri.
Commenting on the development, Emonefe said his tenure would witness activities that would promote the welfare of Nigerian students.
“We are grateful to the whole lot of Nigerian students for giving us the opportunity to serve them. We are giving our words that we won’t betray the confidence reposed in us and we are going to make the welfare of Nigerian students top priority. We also solicit their support too,” he said.
