The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Pathfinder, has rescued seven commercial boat passengers abducted in Rivers State on May 10.

The victims, who were on board a Port Harcourt-bound Bonny commercial boat, were reportedly intercepted by pirates on Bonny-Port Harcourt water channel and diverted to an unknown destination.

The victims were rescued in a kidnappers’ camp in a Bayelsa State community, on May 21.

Addressing reporters at Navy Base in Rivers state yesterday, the Commander NNS Pathfinder, Commodore Suleman Ibrahim said the kidnappers moved the victims to four camps in the two states as the Navy trailed them.

Some of the victims who spoke to newsmen, Jude Ichipuru and Larry Omodiale, thanked the Navy for saving them.

Narrating their ordeal, Ichipuru said they were blindfolded throughout the 11 days they were with the criminals.
