NDA turns down 30,000 applicants, matriculates 441 cadets

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has turned away more than 30,000 individuals who sought admission as cadets for the 75th Regular Course at the esteemed military institution.

Major General John Ochai, the Commandant of NDA, disclosed during the matriculation ceremony for the 75th Regular Course, which welcomed 441 cadets into various degree programs, including one from the Gambia. He highlighted that the selection process involved a competitive screening exercise.

Emphasizing the meticulous selection, he stated that choosing only 441 cadets from a pool of over 30,000 applicants underscores the academy’s commitment to prioritizing competence and adhering to international best standards.

In his address to the matriculating cadets, the commandant urged them to maintain resilience and uphold the principles of self-discipline throughout their training, emphasizing that the academy’s curriculum aims to equip them for national defense operations.
