A 39-year-old female tenant in Ogun State, OpeOluwa Agoro, is alleged to have bitten off the right ear of her neighbor, Oloruntofunmi Folorunso, on Oremeta Street in the Igode area of the Ogun State on Sunday during an argument over the electricity bill.

According to reports, the electricity distribution company servicing the area disconnected the power supply to the house where both tenants live due to a pending issue.

To resolve the issue and restore power, the residents reportedly tasked Folorunso with collecting N500 from each tenant in the house for reconnection.

An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal said that all the tenants except Agoro, who had been having trouble with Folorunso, paid the levy.

The eyewitness said that the argument between the two tenants escalated, with Agoro hurling insults at Folorunso.

Before other tenants could intervene, Agoro grabbed Folorunso’s shirt, pulled him closer, and bit off his right ear with her teeth.

The victim was taken to the hospital for medical attention, while the suspect was arrested by police officers from the Igode Division led by their Divisional Police Officer, SP Aremu Felicia.

Contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident to our correspondent and said that the suspect had been arrested and that the investigation was ongoing.

“The suspect has been arrested. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The investigation into the matter is ongoing,” Odutola said
