The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received another group of 178 Nigerians who were trapped in Libya and returned home.
They were repatriated with the Al Buraq Air Boeing 700-787 with registration number 5A-DMG.
On Wednesday at approximately 18:20, the aeroplane landed at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja.
There are 73 adult women, 63 adult men, 15 male children, 13 female children, 14 male infants, and six female infants among the returnees.
Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed, Director General of NEMA, met the returnees on behalf of the Federal Government.
On arrival, through the Coordinator of the Lagos Territorial Office, Ibrahim Farinloye urged the returnees to turn over a fresh leaf and seek out the abundant chances in the country that are sufficient for everyone to fulfil their ambitions.
The director general also urged the returnees to avoid vices to which they may have been exposed and to maximise the chances available to them back home.
Through the European Union-sponsored Voluntary Aided Returnees by International Organisation for Immigration, distressed returnees were assisted in returning home.
In addition to NEMA, additional agencies include NCFRM, NAPTIP, NSCDC, FAAN, Police, and Nigeria’s Port Health.
