New APC Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, resign from Senate

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned from his position as senator representing Nasarawa West in the 9th Assembly.

His resignation was contained in a letter sent to the Senate, which was read aloud by Senate President Ahmad Lawan during the legislative session on Tuesday.

Adamu stated that his resignation was prompted by his recent election as the new APC Chairman.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, his deputy, has also resigned from his position as Senator for Borno North.

In a separate letter sent to the Senate, he said the resignation is on account of his new position of Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC.
