New Naira: Commuters stranded as protesters set bonfire in Lagos

On Friday, protesters barricaded the Isheri-Igando road after commercial transport workers refused to accept old naira notes.

The protest began in the early hours of the morning in Igando and was later put down by police officers from the Igando Division.

However, another protest erupted at the Oko Filling end of the road, with protesters setting fire to the road, preventing commercial bus drivers from working.

This has led to traffic congestion along the axis.

Commuters have been stranded as some were seen trekking to their destinations.
