New Police Commissioner assumes duty in Edo

Umoru Ozigi has taken over as the new Commissioner of Police in Edo State.

A statement from the Edo State Police Command, issued by its Public Relations Officer, Joel Yamu, announced that the new CP hails from Adavi LGA in Kogi State and holds a degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and received his training at the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano.

Over the past 30 years, he has served in various capacities within the Force, most recently as the Commissioner of Police and Force Provost Marshal at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The command stated that the new CP is aware of the security and safety concerns of the people of Edo State and is seeking the cooperation of the public to combat all forms of crime and criminal activity in the state.
