Newly elected Nigerite Co-operative Society president, Olanrewaju Kazeem unveils four-point agenda

The newly elected President of Nigerite Staff (Ikeja) Co-operative Society Ltd, Olanrewaju Kazeem has unveiled his administration’s four point agenda.

Kazeem and thirteen other executives were elected during the Society’s 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on February 29, 2024 in Ikeja, Lagos.

Other elected executives include; Julius Ogbemudia  (Vice President); Okeya Temitope E (General Secretary); Oguntade Oluseye  (Assistant General Secretary); Adegbite Segun (Treasurer); Afeez Ganiyu O (Financial Secretary); Ogundeji John (Supervisory Committee 1); Adesakin David A (Supervisory Committee 2); Taiwo James (Supervisory Committee 3 );  Obaidu Theresa O (Ex Officio 1);  Bamimore Kamoru T (Ex Officio 2); Olojede Kayode (Ex Officio 3); Ekanem Collins (Loan Committee 1); Adegoke Olukunle (Loan Committee 2).

Kazeem who was immediate past Vice President takes over from Mrs Obaidu Theresa.

The new president pegged his agenda on Accountability and transparency, Empowerment, Digital transformation and Inclusivity.

“I and my team will operate an open door policy, our books shall remain open and decision will be made collectively, we will ensure that your resources will be judiciously utilized,” he said.

He assured members that the Society under his leadership will ensure introduction of well thought out innovations that will transform lives.

“One of the cardinal points of this newly elected administration is to empower our members; our co-operative is not just about financial transaction (i.e: loans only). We will explore avenues for skills development, education, trainings and entrepreneurship. Together we can create opportunities that transform lives.”

On his plans for digital transformation, Kazeem said: “Going by what the outgoing executives as put in place which I am proudly part of. Very soon our members will apply for loans, check balances and do most of their transaction online. Let’s embrace technology to streamline process, enhance communication to reach new height. I employ all members to join the WhatsApp platform as a lot of info will be communicated through that channel.”

The president further assured members that irrespective of their cadres, they will be treated with utmost respect and their voices heard. “Your ideas, contributions, suggestions and observations shapes our path toward greatness. Let us foster an environment where diversity thrives, let’s celebrate our differences and find strength in our shared purpose.”

While appreciating members for the trust and responsibilities entrusted in him and his team, Kazeem appealed for support and cooperation for a successful tenure.
