On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in Abuja, the 36 state governors of the federation will hold their final meeting.
This is in accordance with an invitation sent to all 36 governors by Mr. Asishana Okauru, director-general of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
The letter states that the final meeting, the fifth in 2023, will be held in person after four virtual meetings.
The letter added that following the chairman’s introductory remarks, each governor would have the chance to offer their parting words.
After serving their full terms, seventeen governors are leaving the forum, and between May 14 and May 17, 2023, fresh elected governors will take their places.
The meeting will mark the end of Aminu Tambuwal’s chairmanship of the forum, which he assumed when Kayode Fayemi’s term as the previous chairman and former governor of the state of Ekiti expired.
First-time governors are not eligible to run for forum chairman.
