Niger State has inked an agreement to promote agricultural technology with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Wednesday during the COP28 Climate Summit in the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Mohammed Bago.

“The pact is aimed at enhancing mechanized farming equipment, providing renewable energy solutions, food processing technology, and technical support,” the statement read in part.

Meanwhile, to protect game reserves, the governor called for the creation of rangers dedicated to managing and protecting the forest and conservation areas in Nigeria.

He stated this when he participated as a panelist in an event organized by the Nigeria Police at the Nigeria Pavilion on the sidelines of the COP28.

At the event, Bago called for opportunities for green initiatives and partnerships with the Police and other organizations, including Ministries, Departments, and Agencies working in this area.

Bago also commended the Nigeria Police for their commitment to green initiatives.

The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, in his presentation at the session, highlighted some of the giant strides made by the Nigeria Police Force in environmental sustainability through the Nigeria Police Green Initiatives.
